Incredible, vibrant 1910s/1920s quilt in a nine patch and rails variation. A beautiful collection of floral print curtaining and dress materials with vibrant solids. This quilt top was assembled and set aside for decades (it shows very little wear) and finished at a much later date. The backing fabric, and likely the batting are much more modern. I can tell from the feel that the backing is a poly/cotton blend and does not have the same feel as the antique fabrics. It was nicely hand quilted, except the outer edge which was finished with a machine zigzag stitch. There is one small stain and tear on the blue/cream block (see pictures).
